Vernissage /  Autocenter

Friday 21st August — 7pm

As summer winds its way to a close, gallery season prepares to begin again in earnest and Autocenter welcomes art lovers back into the fold with a striking solo show from Maik Schierloh. Back from Vacation offers viewers a hypnotic immersion into the realm of material as expressed within two dimensions, a lush focused vision perfect for a slow transition to fall.

Autocenter // Leipziger Straße 56, 10117 Berlin

Vernissage /  C/O Berlin

Friday 21st August — 7pm

With change in the air, there has never been a better time for a bit of nostalgia, and this weekend no one is doing nostalgia better than C/O Berlin. Presenting a broad and ranging retrospective of 100 Years in Leica photography alongside Rudi Meisel’s intimate portraits of daily life in a Berlin divided by the wall from 1977-1987, C/O offers up two very different portals into the magic and mysteries of the past.

C/O Berlin // Hardenbergstraße 22-24, 10623 Berlin

Vernissage /  Haus am Waldsee

Saturday 22nd August — 4pm

Warm, open, and brimming with passion, Leiko Ikemura’s pastel homages to the woodcuts of iconic Japanese artists Utagawa Hiroshige (1797–1853) render iconic landscapes with a subtle, delicate contemporaneity. Teeming with tenderness and lush, evocative imagery, Ikemura’s imagery has all the raw power of the originals with an added tenderness only reverence can impart.

Haus am Waldsee // Argentinische Allee 30, 14163 Berlin

Artist Talk /  Glogauair Berlin

Saturday 22nd August — 7pm until 1opm

Celebrate the influential documentary work of Jack Wake-Walker with an artist talk this Saturday evening at Glogauair Berlin followed by a poetry reading featuring Catherine Hales, Clare Saponia, Sanna Kartau. What better way to immerse yourself in the aesthetics of language itself than with a blissful evening devoted to the art of the word.
