Vvzela Kook: Any Dimension you like & Laura Sachs: Reflections on heat – which is on
As the leaves have fallen and the grey sky embraces the city and moves it into a different dimension, not only visually but mentally, we come to terms with this year so far. One of the best ways to contemplate and come back to this very moment is to surround yourself with art. The freedom that comes with the realization that it stands completely for itself with or without us, is utterly freeing. But if we wish, we can also engage with it, or just loose ourselves for some time in this piece of canvas or performance – thus dimension – in front of us, before we move on.

TOP 5 EXHIBITIONS: November 2017
November still offers some delight to the eyes. Bright colors against grey skies, reality and dream all together. But, we know, it is cold and the second season of „Stranger Things“ is available on Netflix. You wanna stay home, right? Don’t do it! Get of your sofa and check out our top 5. Photography, installation, portraits and paintings exhibitions will keep you busy and warm this month. Another reminder: because of the 500th Jubilee of Protestant Reformation, the Japanese artist Chiharu Shiota transformed Nikolaikirche, in Mitte, to an unbelievable black web called „Lost Words“. Have a look until 19th of November.

Landscapes of Loss
Landscapes of Loss at Berlin’s Ministry of Environment is the exhibition for the UN Conference on Climate Change, COP23, bringing together ten international artists with strong links to Berlin, who, each in their own way, address mankind’s role in relation to the environment. Through video, photography, and sculpture, this exhibition is designed as an antidote to the hyper-immediacy of the lives we live.
We highly recommend this one for obvious reasons!

Die Polenbegeisterungswelle in Berlin
Migration von polnischen Künstlerinnen und Künstlern nach Deutschland, vor allem nach Berlin, hat es immer schon gegeben. Das zweiwöchige Festival „Polenbegeisterungswelle – Cultural Topographies of Polish Berlin”, das am 7. Oktober im Studio 1 im Kunstquartier Bethanien eröffnet, wird dies nicht nur Generationsübergreifend in Bezug auf die teilnehmenden polnischen Künstler, sondern auch hindurch alle künstlerischen Formate darstellen.
Der besondere Fokus liegt auf den individuellen, künstlerischen Aussagen. Ruszamy!

The cosy October started. Let the city amuse you! It is time to observe the changing colours on the trees around Berlin, to enjoy the first big cup of hot schocolate and, when the rain falls, to run to a good exhibition, of course.
Here you see our five hightlights for the month and get a extra tip: for the first time in Germany, the huge cowboy version of Elvis Presley (1963) made by Andy Warhol could be seen at the „Hotel Mond“ by Michael Schultz and Frieda Vogel. King´s alive for sure!

FINISSAGE GOLDRAUSCH KÜNSTLERINNEN PROJEKT
Im Kunstquartier Bethanien kann man derzeit die wohl spannendste Ausstellung ausschließlich weiblicher Künstlerinnen ansehen – mit Werken von radikaler Vielfalt, die sich mit politischen und gesellschaftlich wichtigen Themen auseinandersetzen. Das ganze findet im Rahmen des Goldrausch Künstlerinnen Projektes statt, eine ganz wichtige und wirklich durchdachte Förderung Künsterlinnen, die in Berlin leben. Die Finissage der Groupshow ist am Samstag, den 23.9.2017, das ganze von 11 bis 20 Uhr. Nicht verpassen!
