Performance / One Night Stand #1 – Prologue at KW
Thursday 9th January 2014 – 7pm
This Thursday marks the first in a series of one night stands of a different kind – a collaboration between KW and The Network of Berlin Independent Project Spaces and Initiatives. Each month will feature a concept from a different Independent Project Space, aiming at forging connections between the big art institution and the oft overlooked independent art space. The opening night presents ‚Prologue‘, an open performative installation which raises questions of exactly how a project space should look today.

Vernissages / What Are You Supposed to See First? & Head of The Clock
Friday 10th January 2014 – 6pm
Start the new year right by paying a visit to Galerie Johann König this Friday, where there will be not one but two openings. Although best known for his bold, fluorescent canvas works, Manfred Kuttner’s upcoming exhibition, ‚What Are you Supposed to See First?‘, will focus upon very early drawings from his Dresden Academy years. The second exhibition, ‚Head of The Clock‘, is dedicated to the weird and wonderful machines created by Andreas Fischer, taking the everyday objects and transforming them into something extraordinary.

Exhibition / ‚Who Is It‘ by Bernard Handwick
Anytime and anywhere until March 2nd 2014
If you want to feel the accomplishment of viewing some new artwork without having to leave the house then look no further than Hauser Online, “an online art gallery where the exhibitions can be viewed all around the world 24/7”. What is this the difference between that and your average Tumblr account, I hear you ask. Well, to be honest I’m not really sure, but the photographs by Bernard Handwick in their latest ‚exhibition‘ are so lovely I felt impelled to include it in this week’s round-up.
