Play / The Pink Toes Experience

Thursday 28th November – 8pm

If theatre is your cup of tea but pretentious social gatherings are not then ‚The Pink Toes Experience‘ is the answer. The latest play by English director David Ncube, the performance takes place in the cosy setting of a Prenzlauer Berg apartment, lending the tale a great feeling of intimacy as the viewer witness Bertie, a man of dubious social standing propose to his ‚great love‘. Opening on Wednesday 27th November, the play will be performed in various venues across Berlin – find out more here.

Sara Genesis // Kopenhagenerstr. 73, 10437 Berlin

Vernissage / Hamburger Bahnhof

Thursday 28th November – 8pm

Though oft overlooked, gallery walls are of the utmost importance in the delivery of an artist’s work. The surface to hang complete works upon but also the starting point for many pieces, without the walls viewing many works would be very difficult indeed. The latest exhibition at Hamburger Bahnhof will present a group show of pieces originally based on site-specific engagements by renowned artists working in various practices.

Hamburger Bahnhof / Invalidenstr. 50/51, 10557 Berlin

Electronic Festival / Worldtronics 2013

Electronic music in Berlin may not be unusual but the sounds being made at this year’s Worldtronics festival at Hdk certainly will be. Based on the themes of ‚tools‘ and ‚teams‘ to create electronic surprises the programme includes workshops and concerts from a range of international musicians. Watch out for British artist Nervous Squirrel, whose amazing ‚Owl Organ‘ features in the trailer here, above.

Haus der Kulturen der Welt // John-Foster-Dulles-Allee 10, 10557 Berlin

Vernissage / KOW – Franz Erhard Walther

Friday 29th November – 6pm

Discover sculpture in a new way with exhibition ‚Körperformen‘ or ‚Body Shapes‘ by German artist Franz Erhard Walther. Claiming that “Sculpture doesn’t need the eye,”, Walther has been challenging the relationship between viewer and sculpture since the sixties, creating work out of textiles which are designed to be interacted with, addressing all of the senses. His latest exhibition at KOW will continue with this theme and present a range of minimal, abstract sculptures almost resembling a “larger-than-life building-block set”.

KOW // Brunnenstrasse 9, 10119 Berlin

Art Talk / Art collector Harald Falckenberg at Volksbühne

Saturday 30th November – 8pm

Go to the theatre this weekend for something a little different to the usual shows – a talk on the importance of subculture in today’s art scene entitled ‚Aus dem Maschineraum der Kunst‘ or ‚Out of the engine room of art‘. Consisting of a discussion between art collector and essayist Harold Falckenberg, artist and writer Wolfgang Müller and musician and author Rocko Schamoni, the talk will be held at Mitte favourite the Volksbühne and followed with a DJ set by Gereon Klug.

Roter Salon / Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz // Linienstraße 227, 10178 Berlin
